Intro Session FAQ

What should I expect at my first session?

At your first session we'll start with a quick consultation and go over your fitness history, your current goals, any limitations you might have and test your SPo2 (blood-oxygen level) with a device that clips onto your finger. All this information will help us determine what types and what quantities of sessions are most suitable for you and your goals. We'll then set you up for your first session!

What do I bring to a session?

Active training:

  • Towel

  • Drink bottle with fluids

  • Run shoes (if on treadmill or stair maching) or cycle shoes (if on Watt bike)

  • Pedals (we do have selection of pedals that can be used – ask when you book if we have your brand)

  • Run/cycle clothing

Passive training:

  • Comfortable clothes

  • A book or something read/listen to

HOW DO I BOOK future ALTITUDE SESSIONS?

Everyone coming into the NZ Altitude Training Centre is given a free complimentary no obligation session and consultation. Once this is completed and you would like to proceed, your preferred times and days are discussed and booked subject to availability of those time slots.

What kind of training is available?

Our centre offers Wattbikes, treadmill, and a stair machine. No matter what your sport or fitness goal, we can develop programs to suit, using any or all of our fitness machines.

WHAT DIFFERENCE IS THERE BETWEEN REAL AND SIMULATED ALTITUDE TRAINING WHEN USING A MACHINE?

With a high altitude machine you can get all the benefits of altitude training without time away and the expense that goes with that. Also you can carry it on for as long as you want continuing to tap into the long term benefits constant exposure offers.
